Lyrically, “How To Love” is a ballad of understanding for a stripper who seemingly is successful in her work, but insecure when it comes to matters of the heart. The song is outside of mainstream subject matter for a love song, but that makes it even more disarming and ultimately moving.

What’s truly shocking though is, the video for Lil Wayne’s “How To Love”, the third single off Tha Carter IV. It follows a young woman who has to pay for the mistakes her mother made even before she was born. The troubled female struggles through a life of neglect, abuse, stripping, prostitution, and contracting HIV.

Kudos to Lil Wayne’s pleasing singing voice… but what do you guys think?
